\n\t\u201cCall Her Daddy,\u201d \u201cSmartLess,\u201d \u201cThe Joe Rogan Experience\u201d and \u201cThe Megyn Kelly Show\u201d are among the top 25 podcast contenders eligible to compete for the inaugural Golden Globe Award for best podcast, to be presented at the 83rd annual awards ceremony in January.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe field will be narrowed to six nominees that will be unveiled along with the rest of this year\u2019s Globe nominees on Dec. 8.<\/p>\n

\n\tOther prominent titles that made the short list included \u201cArmchair Expert with Dax Shepard,\u201d \u201cGood Hang With Amy Poehler,\u201d \u201cPod Save America,\u201d \u201cThe Daily\u201d from the New York Times, \u201cThe Mel Robbins Podcast\u201d and \u201cThis Past Weekend W\/ Theo Von.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis year\u2019s inaugural list of eligible programs for the new Best Podcast eligibility list reflects the incredible depth, diversity and creativity thriving in the podcasting world today,\u201d said Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globe Awards<\/a>. \u201cFrom groundbreaking investigative series to deeply personal storytelling and innovative audio formats, this list showcases the power of podcasting to inform, entertain, and inspire audiences around the globe. The Golden Globes is proud to be the first major entertainment award to recognize this medium.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 83rd annual Golden Globe Awards are set to air live on CBS on Jan. 11 from the Beverly Hilton hotel. Comedian Nikki Glaser will return for a second year as host.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Globes announced in May the plan to add a best podcast award category<\/a> starting with the 2026 ceremony. It comes as a recognition of the rising influence of podcast commentators and the growing role that audio storytelling plays in the larger content ecosystem. The Globes podcast kudo will include both audio and video podcasts and will spotlight work that has made a significant impact over the past year.<\/p>\n
