Fabrizio Romano has shared his honest verdict on whether Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak will sign for Liverpool this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is a transfer saga that is set to last the whole summer, but one that can surely be quashed very shortly.<\/p>\n

Like many teams in Europe, Liverpool are seriously interested in Alexander Isak<\/a> after the striker scored 20 goals in consecutive Premier League seasons, something even Alan Shearer<\/a> could not do.<\/p>\n

Newcastle United have made their stance on Isak clear<\/a>: he is not for sale. Even if they were to consider his exit, it would cost clubs almost \u00a3200m.<\/p>\n

Despite the reports that Liverpool are tabling a \u00a3120m bid for Isak<\/a>, it has been confirmed that the Reds have not held talks of any kind for the 25-year-old who has gone on record to share his happiness on Tyneside.<\/p>\n

With Newcastle standing firm on Isak, Fabrizio Romano<\/a> has shared whether he genuinely believes the Swede will sign for Liverpool this summer.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, it is good news from Romano, who is aware of Liverpool\u2019s interest, but has made it clear that Isak will likely not join them this summer.<\/p>\n

Liverpool fans were shocked to hear Newcastle\u2019s valuation of Isak<\/a>, with many saying that the club should move onto other targets. <\/p>\n

That mantra appears to be shared by transfer guru Romano, who told the Market Madness podcast: \u201cLiverpool would try to go for Isak [if he became available], but at the moment I don\u2019t have this feeling. The club too, from what I\u2019m hearing, see it as a very, very difficult deal.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Newcastle now have the chance to sit down with Isak and engage in contract talks with him to put any transfer rumours to bed for the time being.<\/p>\n

Newcastle United lived up to Alexander Isak\u2019s demands last season<\/p>\n

This summer, sporting director Paul Mitchell<\/a> was supposed to sit down with Isak and discuss a new deal. However, plans have changed slightly due to Mitchell\u2019s departure from Newcastle<\/a>, so Eddie Howe<\/a> will now be fronting talks.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the year, it was reported that Isak wanted Champions League football<\/a> next season. The Swede was confident that he could achieve that with Newcastle, which they did.<\/p>\n

Newcastle have lived up to one of Isak\u2019s conditions for a new deal, and they are likely to give him anything else that he wants. Isak also wants to be Newcastle\u2019s highest earner<\/a> after his form over the last two seasons and could even take the number nine shirt if Callum Wilson<\/a> decides to leave this summer.<\/p>\n
