A Bronx hospital patient was beaten to death by her roommate with a known history of violent behavior, her grief-stricken family says.<\/p>\n
Cynthia Vann, 55, was sleeping in her room at Lincoln Hospital in Mott Haven when she was attacked, causing her to need emergency surgery on Sept. 10, News 12 reported.<\/a><\/p>\n Vann was at the Bronx medical center for liver treatment at the time of the assault.<\/p>\n Cynthia Vann died on Sept. 27, 2025, two weeks after she was attacked by her roommate inside a Bronx hospital. Facebook\/cynthia vann<\/p>\n She suffered wounds to the head and remained at the NYC Health + Hospitals\/Lincoln complex for two weeks before she died from her injuries on Sept. 27.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s heartbreaking. I\u2019m broken inside. It\u2019s very difficult. My mom was my support system. She was really all I had,\u201d Vann\u2019s daughter Taneisha Vann told News 12.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cShe didn\u2019t deserve this. No one deserves to be assaulted at a hospital while you\u2019re sleeping,\u201d the younger Vann said. \u201cYou\u2019re supposed to feel safe.\u201d<\/p>\n Vann died of blunt force trauma to the head, the outlet reported, citing the medical examiner\u2019s office.<\/p>\n Her death was ruled a homicide.<\/p>\n Vann was receiving liver treatment at Lincoln Hospital in Mott Haven when she was attacked on Sept. 10, 2025.<\/p>\n Taneisha Vann with her mother, Cynthia, before she was mortally wounded while sleeping at the Bronx hospital.<\/p>\n The hospital informed Taneisha Vann of the unidentified roommate\u2019s violent past.<\/p>\n It was unknown if the alleged suspect was charged in Vann\u2019s death.<\/p>\n The Post has reached out to the NYPD.<\/p>\n Taneisha Vann blamed the medical center for creating the environment that put her mother in danger.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m angry with the hospital that allowed this situation to happen,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cShe has a birthday coming up on the 9th. She\u2019ll be 56 and that\u2019s difficult as well. It\u2019s just she didn\u2019t deserve that,\u201d Taneisha said.<\/p>\n The deadly attack took place days before a 95-year-old dementia patient bludgeoned<\/a> her 89-year-old roommate at a Coney Island nursing home.<\/p>\n Vann died of blunt force trauma to the head and her death was ruled a homicide.
