{"id":274390,"date":"2025-10-03T11:11:15","date_gmt":"2025-10-03T11:11:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/274390\/"},"modified":"2025-10-03T11:11:15","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T11:11:15","slug":"chase-elliott-sets-sights-on-charlotte-roval-with-phoenix-in-mind-embrace-and-enjoy-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/274390\/","title":{"rendered":"Chase Elliott Sets Sights on Charlotte Roval With Phoenix in Mind: \u2018Embrace and Enjoy It\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight:400\" data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-1\" class=\"data-event\">If you\u2019re around Chase Elliott this weekend at the Charlotte Roval, don\u2019t be surprised if he is humming or whistling one of the biggest songs ever by late country singer Glen Campbell: \u201cBy The Time I Get To Phoenix.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:400\" data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-2\" class=\"data-event\">You see, while the race at the Roval \u2013 which is the only road course event in the 10-race NASCAR Cup playoffs \u2013 is important to most other drivers, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thesportsrush.com\/tag\/chase-elliott\/\" data-utm_source=\"article\" data-utm_medium=\"content\" data-utm_campaign=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elliott<\/a><\/strong> has somewhat of a luxury in that he is also thinking ahead to qualifying for the Championship 4 season finale at Phoenix Raceway on November 2.<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-3\" class=\"data-event\">\u201cI think it\u2019s a great opportunity to race this weekend like we\u2019re going to have to race the next three weeks following that and get our team in a position where that\u2019s the norm because if you want to get to Phoenix, that\u2019s got to be the mindset there anyway. So, you might as well embrace it and enjoy it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:400\" data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-4\" class=\"data-event\">Elliott, who won the NASCAR Cup championship in 2020, is already a lock into the next round, the Round of Eight, by virtue of having won this past Sunday at Kansas Speedway, having snuck by Denny Hamlin and Bubba Wallace in the final several hundred feet of the frontstretch on the last lap to take the checkered flag.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:400\" data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-5\" class=\"data-event\">So, even though the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thesportsrush.com\/nascar-news-why-the-charlotte-roval-is-the-most-unique-track-in-nascar\/\" data-utm_source=\"article\" data-utm_medium=\"content\" data-utm_campaign=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roval<\/a><\/strong> has historically been one of Elliott\u2019s better tracks \u2013 in seven starts, he has two wins, three top five, and five top 10 finishes \u2013 he doesn\u2019t really have to put as much emphasis on Sunday\u2019s race, knowing he\u2019s already guaranteed to move on to the semifinal round of the following three races.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:400\" data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-6\" class=\"data-event\">Next Sunday at Las Vegas, followed a week later at Talladega and one week after that, the final race that will determine which four drivers advance to Phoenix to battle for the championship, at Martinsville Speedway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:400\" data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-7\" class=\"data-event\">But the driver of the No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro SS isn\u2019t totally forgetting about the Roval, either.
