From live music and cultural celebrations to sports, history and art, the lineup spans the breadth of the community. <\/p>\n<p>Fiesta de Reyes in Old Town has come alive to honor the dead, transforming into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fiestadereyes.com\/dia-de-los-muertos-at-fiesta-de-reyes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">D\u00eda de los Muertos<\/a> wonderland every day through Nov. 2 from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Now in its fourth year, this free celebration honors San Diego\u2019s rich Hispanic heritage with more than 60 unique Day of the Dead displays, thousands of marigolds filling the courtyard, life-sized Catrina skeleton dolls in fancy dress, live entertainment and traditional altars throughout the plaza. Casa de Reyes and Barra Barra Saloon will also be serving up themed menu items all month long.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Whether you vibe with film scores or B.o.B., this weekend\u2019s music menu has some range: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>The second annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdtjjazz.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Diego Tijuana International Jazz Festival<\/a> runs through Sunday, celebrating over a century of binational jazz history that connects our region across the border. The festival kicked off Thursday in San Diego\u2019s East Village, moves to North County Saturday and wraps Sunday in Tijuana \u2013 three venues, one celebration of the deep cultural ties and jazz legacies that unite our communities. Tickets start at $35.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/pechangaarenasd.com\/event\/world-of-hans-zimmer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">World of Hans Zimmer: A New Dimension<\/a> comes to Midway District\u2019s Pechanga Arena Saturday at 7:30 p.m. This isn\u2019t just a concert \u2013 it\u2019s a full sensory experience featuring Zimmer\u2019s legendary scores from films such as Dune, Gladiator, Inception, The Dark Knight, Top Gun: Maverick and Dunkirk performed live by a full orchestra and virtuoso soloists. While Zimmer won\u2019t be performing in person, this curated concert experience captures the power and emotion of his iconic compositions. Tickets start around $45.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The Marshall Tucker Band brings their <a href=\"https:\/\/harrahssocal.com\/entertainment\/events\/the-marshall-tucker-band\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">All Our Friends Tour<\/a> to Harrah\u2019s Resort in Valley Center Saturday at 8 p.m. Since 1972, MTB has been tearing up stages worldwide with their signature blend of Southern rock, country and jazz. Warm up those vocal cords in case you want to sing along to hits such as \u201cCan\u2019t You See\u201d and \u201cHeard It in a Love Song.\u201d Tickets start at $27.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>B.o.B. bring his <a href=\"https:\/\/bellyup.com\/calendar\/13770814\/b-o-b-adventures-of-bobby-ray-15th-anniversary-tour-w-chiddy-bang\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adventures of Bobby Ray 15th Anniversary Tour<\/a> to Belly Up in Solana Beach Saturday at 9 p.m. with special guest Chiddy Bang. It\u2019s been 15 years since B.o.B.\u2019s debut album topped the Billboard 200 with anthems such as \u201cNothin\u2019 on You,\u201d \u201cAirplanes\u201d and \u201cMagic.\u201d Where were you when you first heard these songs? Tickets start at $36 in advance, $41 day of show and $60 for reserved seating.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you\u2019re feeling Friday Night Lights (granted, for the college set), the <a href=\"https:\/\/goaztecs.com\/news\/2025\/10\/1\/promotions-announced-for-fridays-hispanic-heritage-night-game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aztecs take on Colorado State<\/a> at 7:30 p.m. in their Mountain West Conference opener at Snapdragon Stadium and it\u2019s packed with celebrations: Hispanic Heritage Night (free hats at the gate), Breast Cancer Awareness Month, SDSU Family Weekend and honoring teachers and the U.S. Air Force. Tickets start at $44.<\/p>\n<p>The NBA is back in San Diego \u2013 for one night only! The 2023 NBA Champion Denver Nuggets take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in a preseason showdown Saturday at 6 p.m. at Pechanga Arena. This is the first <a href=\"https:\/\/pechangaarenasd.com\/event\/nuggets-vs-timberwolves-nba-preseason\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBA preseason game<\/a> in San Diego since 2015 and it\u2019s a homecoming of sorts, Pechanga Arena once hosted the San Diego Rockets and Clippers back in the day. The San Diego County Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk is throwing a free <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdarcc.gov\/content\/arcc\/home\/newsroom\/newsarticle.1757616203889.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">American Archives Month celebration<\/a> Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the East County office, 10144 Mission Gorge Road, in Santee. Explore how archives preserve local heritage and lift up underrepresented voices through a panel with cultural heritage experts and tribal representatives, behind-the-scenes archive tours and an awards ceremony honoring those who\u2019ve protected our county\u2019s diverse stories.
