He detailed having two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/24\/11\/42122576\/dave-ramsey-guarantees-if-you-have-a-car-payment-you-will-be-broke-your-whole-life-heres-how-he-says-you-can-become-rich?utm_campaign=partner_feed&amp;utm_source=yahooFinance&amp;utm_medium=partner_feed&amp;utm_content=site&amp;nid=46169253\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:massive car payments;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">massive car payments<\/a>: $1,600 per month for a Tesla and $800 for a truck. When you\u2019re doing very well, like you are, it\u2019s very easy to go, \u2018I can afford the payment.\u2019 But you\u2019re never looking at the big picture amount.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">In addition to the car loans, Dustin and his wife are still paying off a second mortgage, $1,800 a month on a home they no longer even own. They owe $156,000 on that debt alone. Their current home carries a mortgage of $800,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">They also have $19,000 remaining on a credit card, after paying off two others totaling $27,000. On top of that, they pay $3,000 a month for their three children to attend a private Christian school.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">\u201cDo we need to pull the kids out of private school?&#8221; Kamel asked him. \u201cThat&#8217;s kind of what I\u2019m here for,\u201d Dustin responded, indicating that he\u2019s not shying away from difficult choices.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Kamel left the decision up to the caller but noted, \u201cAt this state of your personal finances, we can\u2019t afford private school. With an income of $45,000 per month, he questioned where the rest was going and stressed that the real problem was their financial behavior, not their earnings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">The couple has three rental properties, but only one generates profit. The other two are break-even and are being rented out to friends. Kamel suggested they consider selling the properties to simplify their lives and throw the money toward their debt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">He also emphasized the need for structure. \u201cPull up your bank statements to see where it\u2019s all going.
