The initiative earned an Award of Excellence in the 2025 Downtown Achievement Awards, which celebrate outstanding urban place management projects worldwide.

A jury of peer professionals reviewed, deliberated, and evaluated entries before selecting the T&P Passage for its exceptional response to an urban place management challenge. The award highlights projects that demonstrate strong industry knowledge while exceeding jury criteria.

The T&P Passage project improves the vital link between downtown and the TEXRail and TRE platforms at the southern terminal. Enhancements include bold streetside signage, an illuminated plaza and walkway, clear wayfinding, public art, and historic displays. These features elevate the first and last impressions of Fort Worth for commuters, visitors, and travelers, emphasizing the city’s vibrancy, hospitality, and heritage.

Beyond transportation, the project reinforces Fort Worth’s cultural identity. Storytelling elements along the route highlight key railroad moments, from the construction of the grand Art Deco T&P building to imagery of the people who built and passed through the station.

Public art also plays a central role. Ariel Davis’ mural, Looking Up: A View of The Lone Star Sky, transforms the tunnel’s underground landing into a bright, welcoming space. Together, these improvements celebrate Fort Worth’s past and future, underscoring a civic vision that values heritage, innovation, visitors, and transit.

The T&P Passage project, managed by Downtown Fort Worth Inc., has received international recognition for its role in…

[5138
5229,22907,12047,71743,7371,11095,7372,11642,358,85168,7453,72499,59772,3187,67,586,132,5230,53388,68,2969
0":"post-274900","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-fort-worth","8":"tag-america","9":"tag-cultural-heritage","10":"tag-downtown-fort-worth","11":"tag-downtown-fort-worth-inc","12":"tag-fort-worth","13":"tag-fort-worth-inc-staff","14":"tag-fortworth","15":"tag-public-art","16":"tag-texas","17":"tag-texrail","18":"tag-top-story","19":"tag-tre","20":"tag-trinity-metro","21":"tag-tx","22":"tag-united-states","23":"tag-united-states-of-america","24":"tag-unitedstates","25":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","26":"tag-urban-development","27":"tag-us","28":"tag-usa
["GET
