{"id":275489,"date":"2025-10-03T21:02:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-03T21:02:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/275489\/"},"modified":"2025-10-03T21:02:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T21:02:11","slug":"preview-manvel-to-review-comprehensive-plan-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/275489\/","title":{"rendered":"PREVIEW: Manvel to review comprehensive plan update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/houston\/pearland-friendswood-manvel\/government\/2025\/09\/17\/manvel-approves-budget-flat-tax-rate-for-fy-2025-26\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manvel City Council<\/a> will receive a presentation on a comprehensive and major thoroughfare plan from Houston-based planning firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kendigkeast.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kendig Keast Collaborative<\/a> at its Oct. 6 meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation is part of <a href=\"https:\/\/cityofmanvel.com\/520\/Future-Manvel?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Future Manvel<\/a>\u2014a year-long, community-led initiative to plan the city\u2019s future.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While the presentation has not yet been released, the comprehensive and major thoroughfare plan, along with the 2045 strategic plan passed in February, aims to guide the city\u2019s growth and define community goals for land use, zoning and transportation, according to the city\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p>In the past decade, Manvel\u2019s population has grown by nearly 140%.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How we got here<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/houston\/pearland-friendswood\/government\/2024\/03\/22\/manvel-launches-planning-initiative-to-meet-demands-of-a-growing-community\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Future Manvel initiative<\/a> was broken up into two phases: Manvel Today and Future Manvel.<\/p>\n<p>The Manvel Today phase ran through June 2024 and included public workshops, a city-wide public forum, focus groups and a citizen survey for residents to express their concerns and desires for the city.<\/p>\n<p>Residents&#8217;
