ATLANTA \u2014 An iconic Atlanta restaurant will be closing its doors after 32 years. <\/p>\n
The owners of EATS on Ponce de Leon Ave. announced their last day will be on Oct. 18. <\/p>\n
General Manager Levi Nichols explained that rising property taxes and water bills have made it difficult to keep the business running. He says the water bill for the upcoming month is over $4,000.<\/p>\n

EATS has never just been about the food. It has always been about you. Y\u2019all gave this place its heartbeat. The conversations, the laughter, the regulars who became family, the generations who grew up walking through our doors,\u201d the owners wrote in a statement.<\/p>\n Channel 2\u2019s Tom Jones<\/b> stopped by the restaurant on Friday and spoke with customers who are disappointed that the restaurant\u2019s days are coming to an end.<\/p>\n \u201cThe food is amazing here.
