Andrew Cuomo has raised over $400,000 in campaign donations this week alone in an effort to topple Democratic mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani. REUTERS<\/p>\n<p>The loot was just shy of the $421,000 Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa raised over the entire Aug. 19 to Sept. 29 filing deadline.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVoters are just now tuning into this race, and they want a safe city they can afford to live in, and they know Andrew Cuomo has the experience to deliver and the ability to hit the ground running on Day One,\u201d Cuomo for NYC Chairman Bill Bulrow said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Cuomo, who is running as an independent in the November race, raised $940,000 in total over the filing period, with $334,000 eligible for public matching funds. <\/p>\n<p>All of Sliwa\u2019s $421,000 will qualify for matching funds, while Democratic nominee Mamdani has already maxed out his donations.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani brushed off Cuomo\u2019s haul at an unrelated press conference Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can just tell you that, thanks to the support of everyday New Yorkers, we don\u2019t have to worry about fundraising in this race,\u201d Mamdani said, before boasting about his campaign\u2019s average donation of $25 per contributor.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37290194\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/100125-nyc-mayor-eric-adams-112585753_513080.jpg\" alt=\"New York City Mayor Eric Adams at a press conference.\" class=\"wp-image-37290194\"  \/>The recent surge in campaign finances for Cuomo comes just under two days after Mayor Eric Adams announced he was dropping out of the race for mayor of New York City.
