He\u2019s raking in some \u2018Cuo\u2019 hard cash.<\/p>\n

Andrew Cuomo\u2019s bid to topple mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani<\/a> gained some steam this week \u2013 as the former governor raised an eye-whopping $400,000 in donations following Eric Adams\u2019 exit from the race.<\/a><\/p>\n

The six-figure haul came in just under two days following Hizzoner\u2019s announcement that he was dropping his long-shot independent re-election bid on Sunday, according to a campaign source.<\/p>\n

The loot was just shy of the $421,000 Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa raised over the entire Aug. 19 to Sept. 29 filing deadline.<\/p>\n

\u201cVoters are just now tuning into this race, and they want a safe city they can afford to live in, and they know Andrew Cuomo has the experience to deliver and the ability to hit the ground running on Day One,\u201d Cuomo for NYC Chairman Bill Bulrow said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Cuomo, who is running as an independent in the November race, raised $940,000 in total over the filing period, with $334,000 eligible for public matching funds. <\/p>\n

All of Sliwa\u2019s $421,000 will qualify for matching funds, while Democratic nominee Mamdani has already maxed out his donations.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Mamdani brushed off Cuomo\u2019s haul at an unrelated press conference Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can just tell you that, thanks to the support of everyday New Yorkers, we don\u2019t have to worry about fundraising in this race,\u201d Mamdani said, before boasting about his campaign\u2019s average donation of $25 per contributor.<\/p>\n

\"NewThe recent surge in campaign finances for Cuomo comes just under two days after Mayor Eric Adams announced he was dropping out of the race for mayor of New York City. Matthew McDermott<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd while Andrew Cuomo will continue to have to call donors, I look forward to actually speaking to New Yorkers themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cuomo\u2019s most recent haul had an average donation of $328, while Sliwa has an average contribution of $118.<\/p>\n

The contribution limit for individuals in city mayoral races is $2,100, according to campaign finance rules.<\/p>\n

All three candidates have recently shelled out over $600,000 for TV spots<\/a>, as the election swings into high-gear.<\/p>\n

The former governor is nearly 20 points behind Mamdani, with around 29% support to Mamdani\u2019s 47%, and Sliwa in a distant third at 11%, according to the latest polling.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"He\u2019s raking in some \u2018Cuo\u2019 hard cash.
