The driver was taken into custody without further incident. Streets in the area will remain closed until the vehicle is cleared.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a data-ylk=\"ct:story;elm:img;itc:0;\" class=\"stretched-box\" href=\"https:\/\/powerwomensummit2025.splashthat.com\/Announcement\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"247\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/d12854916699f2277522cb86d6fcbf55.jpeg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Mayor Karen Bass also issued a statement on X after the incident, where she confirmed the suspect was now in custody and that the LAPD Bomb squad was on the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">She added, \u201cThank you to all of the brave first responders who safely resolved this situation with compassion and urgency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Prior to this update, Bass informed her constituents that City Hall was being \u201cevacuated out of an abundance of caution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to reports, two handmade signs were presented on the dashboard of the vehicle and read: \u201cDon\u2019t want to hurt nobody\u201d and \u201cI need ur help D Trump US vet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The suspect, who has been described as an older man with long gray hair, also had a handicap placard on display.
