H-E-B president to retire, chief operating officer to step into the role<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n A San Antonio-based grocery chain with a stronghold across Texas is now facing a change in leadership.<\/p>\n In case you missed it<\/strong><\/p>\n H-E-B<\/a> President Craig Boyan announced his intention to step down from his role, effective in January 2026.<\/p>\n He\u2019ll subsequently retire at the end of next year, according to a Sept. 30 news release from the company.<\/p>\n As a result, current H-E-B Chief Operating Officer Roxanne Orsak will take his place.<\/p>\n Read the full story by Reporter Andrew Creelman.<\/a><\/p>\n Local New Braunfels brewery to close this fall after 16 years<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n A local brewery and biergarten is planning to shut its doors on Halloween in New Braunfels.<\/p>\n The details<\/strong><\/p>\n Faust Brewing Company announced its upcoming closure on Oct. 31 at 499 S. Castell Ave. in New Braunfels, according to a Facebook post<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cFor 16 wonderful years, we have had the privilege of serving our community, sharing laughter, celebrations, and creating unforgettable memories,\u201d the post states.<\/p>\n Read the full story by Reporter Andrew Creelman.<\/a><\/p>\n TCEQ to hold public hearing for proposed wastewater permit in New Braunfels<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality<\/a>, or TCEQ, is holding a public meeting Oct. 2 for a proposed permit that requests the authorization to dispose of 460,000 gallons of treated domestic wastewater on 117 acres of public access land to serve a new residential development.<\/p>\n Two-minute impact<\/strong><\/p>\n This permit\u2014proposed by Chesmar Homes<\/a> and the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority<\/a>\u2014would be for a wastewater treatment facility and disposal site located 3.5 miles west of the FM 2722 and Hwy. 46 intersection in New Braunfels, according to a news release from the Greater Edwards Aquifer Alliance<\/a>, or GEAA.<\/p>\n GEAA is a nonprofit organization that works to promote broad-based advocacy protections and preservations of the Edwards Aquifer. Houston St., announced its grand opening on Sept. 22 in a news release, showcasing the upgrades.<\/p>\n Renovations totaled approximately $57 million, adding 20,000 new square feet of meeting spaces, 311 reimagined guest rooms and a new digital recording studio.<\/p>\n Additionally, the news release outlined the launch of four new bars and eateries on the hotel\u2019s property, two of which are already open to the public\u2014Jot\u2019s, a new restaurant and The Keystone Club, a new brass bar.<\/p>\n Read the full story by Reporter Andrew Creelman.<\/a><\/p>\n Lefko Plastics selects New Braunfels for first US-based manufacturing facility<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Lefko Plastics<\/a>\u2014a Canada-based manufacturing company\u2014is officially expanding to New Braunfels.<\/p>\n What you need to know<\/strong><\/p>\n Lefko USA Inc. will be operating in a 70,000-square-foot facility at 2625 Goodwin Lane. The facility will serve customers in Mexico and the Southern United States area and manufacture custom blow-molded plastic parts, components and products, as previously reported<\/a> by Community Impact.<\/p>\n The company\u2019s expansion will create over 150 new, full-time jobs<\/a> and generate more than $15 million in capital investment. Lefko Plastics was also offered a $19,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus, according to a news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n
