The first time Carter Bradley<\/a><\/strong> pulled into the Jaguars<\/a>\u2019 parking lot was on the January 2013 day his father, Gus<\/strong>, was introduced as the team\u2019s head coach<\/a>.<\/p>\n All these years later, through stops in Toledo (Ohio), Mobile (Ala.), Las Vegas and San Francisco, Carter knew exactly how to get back downtown to sign with the Jaguars\u2019 practice squad Tuesday.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t need to use the maps (app), that\u2019s for sure,\u201d Carter said with a laugh after his first Jaguars practice. \u201cA lot of memories, a lot of good memories and a lot of good people still here. It was surreal.\u201d<\/p>\n Like most (if not all) practice squad additions, Bradley didn\u2019t have to catch a flight to Jacksonville \u2014 since being waived by the 49ers with an injury settlement on Aug. 25, he returned to Jacksonville to rehabilitate while staying at his family\u2019s house they have kept since Gus was fired by the Jaguars<\/a> in December 2016.<\/p>\n Bradley had the move-around childhood like many kids of coaches. Born in Fargo, N.D., (Gus was on the North Dakota State staff), moved to Tampa at age 6 (Buccaneers), to Seattle at age 9 (Seahawks<\/a>) and to Jacksonville at age 12 (Jaguars). When Gus moved to become the Los Angeles Chargers\u2019 defensive coordinator, the family stayed in Jacksonville through Carter\u2019s senior year at Providence in the 2017-18 school season.<\/p>\n It was Carter Bradley\u2019s first look at the Jaguars\u2019 new practice facility; during Gus\u2019 tenure, all of the team\u2019s locker rooms and offices were inside the windowless stadium.<\/p>\n \u201cI wasn\u2019t trying to make my dad jealous when I said, \u2018You should see this place,\u2019\u201d Carter said. \u201cThey\u2019ve done a great job with this place and making is super, super player-oriented.\u201d<\/p>\n Bradley sustained a torn plantar fascia (the band of tissue along the bottom of the foot that connects the heel to the toes) and a high ankle sprain on separate snaps while playing for the 49ers. Surgery wasn\u2019t required, but rest was. He accepted an injury settlement from the 49ers, which allowed him to sign with the Jaguars once healthy.<\/p>\n Bradley was 22 of 41 for 199 yards, one touchdown and one interception for San Francisco. Gus Bradley is on the 49ers\u2019 staff.<\/p>\n \u201cI definitely felt his presence out there and it was cool to see that side of him, working with the guys (on defense) and you could truly see how much of a leader he is,\u201d Carter said.<\/p>\n Bradley played four years at Toledo and two years at South Alabama before spending time with the Raiders and 49ers.<\/p>\n \u201cHe has got some arm talent \u2014 he can throw it and push the ball to a lot of different areas of the field,\u201d Jaguars coach Liam Coen<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n Said Bradley: \u201cSome people say it\u2019s been a tough journey for me, but I\u2019ve loved every part of it and loved everywhere I\u2019ve been and if football is involved, I\u2019m happy.\u201d<\/p>\n About the Jaguars<\/p>\n 1. A lot of respect for the position that he puts his players in and the attacking mindset they play with.\u201d<\/p>\n
