{"id":277477,"date":"2025-10-04T15:53:13","date_gmt":"2025-10-04T15:53:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/277477\/"},"modified":"2025-10-04T15:53:13","modified_gmt":"2025-10-04T15:53:13","slug":"new-mom-and-pop-burger-shop-tops-fort-worth-news-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/277477\/","title":{"rendered":"New mom-and-pop burger shop tops Fort Worth news this week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As if Texas drivers needed one more reason to obey the rules of the road: The Lone Star State now holds the undesirable distinction of being the most dangerous state for motorcyclists.<\/p>\n<p>A new <a href=\"https:\/\/nicoletlaw.com\/blog\/the-most-dangerous-states-for-motorcyclists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">study<\/a> from personal injury law firm Nicolet Law assigns a motorcyclist risk score to Texas of 99 out of 100. At No. 2 is Louisiana, with a score of 77.<\/p>\n<p>The study bases the scores on factors such as the number of deadly motorcycle crashes per 100,000 motorcycles, the number of motorcyclists killed vs. the number of motorcyclists involved in crashes, average annual rainfall, road conditions, alcohol and drug impairment, and speed-related traffic deaths.<\/p>\n<p>The worst of the study\u2019s findings: Texas ranks first in the country for the average number of deaths per 100,000 motorcycles \u2014 133. It also lands at No. 1 for the number of motorcyclists involved in deadly crashes per 100,000 motorcycles (148) and the number of speed-related deaths per 100,000 motorcycles (60).<\/p>\n<p>Last year, 581 motorcyclists died on Texas roads, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.txdot.gov\/safety\/traffic-safety-campaigns\/motorcycle-safety.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">according to<\/a> the Texas Department of Transportation. In good news, that\u2019s down slightly from the 2023 death toll of 599.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe recent surge in motorcycle purchases and rising gas prices have led more Texans to choose motorcycles as their primary transportation,\u201d say the study&#8217;s authors. \u201cThis trend, combined with Texas\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworth.culturemap.com\/news\/travel\/12-09-21-interstate-35-20-dfw-freeways-deadliest-roads-zebra\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">extensive highway system<\/a> and high speed limits, creates unique safety challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Texas actually is not the state with the most registered motorcycles. California ranks first in that category, with Texas in sixth place, according to 2023 federal data.<\/p>\n<p>However, Southern states dominate the list of most dangerous places for motorcycle riders.<\/p>\n<p>The top 10 deadliest states for motorcyclists are:<\/p>\n<p>1. Texas<br \/>2. Louisiana<br \/>3. South Carolina<br \/>4. Arkansas<br \/>5. Missouri<br \/>6. Tennessee<br \/>7. Florida<br \/>8. Mississippi<br \/>9. Nevada<br \/>10. Arizona<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe conversation about motorcycle safety often stops at accident numbers, but the real issue runs deeper,&#8221; says Russell Nicolet, president of Nicolet Law. &#8220;Riding represents freedom for many, yet it also exposes gaps in how we design roads, educate drivers, and prepare communities for shared responsibility.
