Welcome to\u00a0Week 5\u00a0of the 2025 NFL season, which began Thursday night with the San Francisco 49ers defeating the Los Angeles Rams<\/a> on a late field goal.<\/p>\n

The Bears do not play on Sunday, enjoying the bye week after a 2-2 start to the season has them tied for third in the very competitive\u00a0NFC North<\/a>\u00a0behind the Detroit Lions<\/a> (3-1) and Green Bay Packers (2-1-1) and tied with the Minnesota Vikings<\/a> (2-2).<\/p>\n

Do the Bears play today?<\/p>\n

No. The Bears do not play today or this week for that matter. They are on a bye week after having won their last two games. First-year coach Ben Johnson has the Bears winning, and second-year quarterback Caleb Williams is completing 62 percent of his passes for 927 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions.<\/p>\n

The Bears join three other teams on a bye, the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers. This is the first week with byes this season. The latest\u00a0bye week is Week 14<\/a>, when four teams are off.<\/p>\n
