Flying taxis are coming to Los Angeles as one company is already looking for places to land them.<\/p>\n
VertiPorts by Atlantic is looking to build vertiports for the electric air taxis, which are coming pending FAA approval.<\/p>\n
Kevin Cox, the company\u2019s chief executive, told KNX News\u2019 Karen Adams that they\u2019re taking a \u201cvery methodical approach\u201d as the look for places.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have heat maps that we developed that allow us to focus in on the areas which we believe are the greatest opportunity for the traveling public and the community,\u201d he said. \u201c<\/p>\n
He added that he air taxi landing sites can be built on open land next to airports, universities, and even rooftops.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know driver preferences and we have the ability to pinpoint via heat maps where these opportunities are to, excuse the pun, elevate people over the congestion and onto their destination, and Southern California is very ripe for this type of technology,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Local<\/strong><\/a> wherever you get podcasts.<\/strong><\/p>\n Cox said the air taxis are safe, with the professional pilot whisking up to four people over traffic to their destination in 10 to 20 minutes.
