Glen Powell can’t get his phone to stop vibrating because of his group chat with his cast mates and friends from “Top Gun: Maverick.”<\/p>\n

The “Chad Powers” actor, 36, starred in the 2022 sequel to the original “Top Gun” film, and has now said he and his co-stars\u2019 bonds have endured well beyond filming as they continue to share updates and celebrate one another\u2019s achievements by text.<\/p>\n

He told People<\/a>, \u201cSometimes I\u2019ll get a little information every once in a while from the gang. The ‘Top Gun’ chain is alive with congratulations to each other, about sort of movie openings or nominations, or whatever it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

The “Twisters” star added, \u201cMiles\u2019 [Teller] movie is doing really well, Monica [Barbaro] getting nominated for an Oscar. Everybody is getting to do all these really wonderful, cool things, so it\u2019s a lot of congratulations.\u201d<\/p>\n

In January 2024, Variety confirmed a new sequel to ‘Top Gun’ was in development when Christopher McQuarrie, the writer-producer on ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ told the Happy Sad Confused<\/a> podcast in May a third film in the franchise was in the works.<\/p>\n

Despite the excitement, Powell said his group chat has not provided any insider knowledge on the upcoming project telling People, \u201cI wish. I wish I had something. I literally have nothing. There\u2019s been no new dialogue on that text chain. There was a lot of speculation about a movie there for a while, but no new intel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Glen is currently promoting his new Hulu comedy series Chad Powers, launched in partnership with Raising Cane\u2019s.<\/p>\n
