San Antonio ISD officials sent an email to parents<\/a> expressing their commitment to students\u2019 rights to freedom of speech but also said law enforcement informed them protestors could be armed.<\/p>\n\u201cAs a high school student what do you care so much about that you gotta be armed going out there to fight for something,\u201d said Jude Quiroga, student at Fox Tech.<\/p>\n
The district is asking parents to tell their kids not to march. But a representative with Fox Students League says the claim about armed protestors is false and that the district is using it to deter people from participating.<\/p>\n
Some students say they just want the school to be prepared.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like our cop really isn’t gonna do that much if people start getting off of campus,\u201d said a student.<\/p>\n
SAISD officials says students who leave campuses would face code of conduct penalties.
