Newcastle United boardroom duo Peter Silverstone and chief financial officer Simon Capper were both in attendance for the Magpies’ 4-0 win over Union SG this week.<\/a><\/p>\n

And there was little wonder the pair looked satisfied after the thumping victory that sent around 1,000 Newcastle fans back to Tyneside with smiling faces. If the win was worth its weight in gold for Eddie Howe and his coaching staff, who were desperate for a morale-boosting win of any type, then how about the value of what three points look like in terms of the club’s coffers?<\/p>\n

The prize for the victory in Belgium was a cheque from the UEFA prize pot of \u00a31.8m, and bearing in mind Newcastle only scooped \u00a3100,000 for winning the Carabao Cup itself at Wembley last season, after the 2-1 win over Liverpool, it wasn’t a bad night’s work at all for the club.<\/p>\n

With six games left, there is another \u00a310.8m at stake for Newcastle, while qualifying for the play-offs would also land another windfall of almost \u00a311m. As far as boosting club finances and catching up with the likes of Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool, there is quite simply no better place to be right now for United.<\/p>\n

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports<\/a> bundle for the 2025\/26 season, saving members \u00a3336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.<\/p>\n

Joelinton gives insight into dressing room confidence<\/p>\n

The Brazilian international has now shaken off the effects of the knee injury that dogged him at the end of last season, and he’s getting close to his irresistible best in midfield.<\/p>\n

An intriguing decision lies ahead this weekend to see who lines up in midfield, with talk of some rotation and the return of Jacob Ramsey. Joelinton spent some time taking a good look around the slick pitch in Anderlecht before open training this week and declared that the current squad is much better equipped than the 2023 Champions League run.<\/p>\n

He told Chronicle Live: “I think the team has moved forward. Two years ago, I think we are a better team now.<\/p>\n

“This season has not started the way we want, but we know the quality we have in our team. But we have the confidence and we have experienced players to turn it on.”<\/p>\n

Summer signing quickly back from injury<\/p>\n

Seung-soo Park had some fans concerned last week when he posted a picture on his Instagram account with an ice pack on his knee.<\/p>\n

The image confirmed that the 18-year-old had been ruled out of the 4-1 win over Bradford City in the Carabao Cup, a night that had been earmarked for a possible competitive debut for the teenager.<\/p>\n

Park though has bounced back from the injury quickly and was involved<\/a> in Newcastle’s UEFA Youth League clash in Belgium last week.<\/p>\n

Sadly, Adam Lawrence’s side lost 2-0, but Park at least got 45 minutes of action and continues to learn his trade with the second string.<\/p>\n
