(Photo courtesy of the San Diego Auto Museum<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sdautomuseum.org\/?srsltid=AfmBOopHCGUjkCGxuvBkFR8A921hrxOvqS61kVu4nRNe1Cu9qd4wagdD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The San Diego Automotive Museum <\/a>has officially launched a $20 million capital campaign to support the construction of a new building that will expand its footprint, elevate its educational mission, and strengthen community engagement in the heart of Balboa Park.<\/p>\n<p>The planned expansion will add 35,000 square feet of space to the existing historic facility, including areas for rotating exhibits, educational programs, and community events. A rooftop reception venue with sweeping views of Downtown San Diego and Balboa Park will offer a new destination for special events and private gatherings. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a transformative moment for the Museum,\u201d said Executive Director Lenny Leszczynski. \u201cThe new building will allow us to better preserve automotive history, inspire future generations, and welcome more visitors and students into our space.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Over the past five years, the Museum has made major upgrades to its current facility, including a new Berg Family Library and other vital improvements.
