Eric Dane is keeping up the fight as he battles his ALS diagnosis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The \u201cEuphoria\u201d actor opened up more about his diagnosis during a meeting in Washington, D.C., with U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone (D-NJ) as part of his work with the I AM ALS non-profit.<\/p>\n

\u201cALS is the last thing they want to diagnose anybody with,\u201d Dane said in a TikTok video shared by US Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.). \u201cSo often, it takes all this time for these people to be diagnosed, well, then it precludes them from being a part of these clinical trials.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cThat\u2019s why ACT for ALS is so, so great, and it\u2019s because it broadens the access for everybody.<\/p>\n

The actor was on Capitol Hill with I AM ALS to advocate for the reauthorization of the ACT for ALS law that expands access to treatments and works to support development of new therapies for ALS and other neurodegenerative diseases.<\/p>\n

Dane was diagnosed with ALS, short for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, in April.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have two daughters at home,\u201d he said in the meeting. \u201cI want to see them, you know, graduate college, and get married and maybe have grandkids. You know, I want to be there for all that. So I\u2019m going to fight to the last breath on this one.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 52-year-old shares daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13, with wife Rebecca Gayheart.<\/p>\n

Gayheart opened up on the how difficult Dane\u2019s diagnosis has been for the family.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a journey, and there\u2019s no real road map for us to follow, so we\u2019re facing things as they happen,\u201d she told us at the Step Up 2025 Inspiration Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cWe\u2019re trying to do it all with as much dignity and grace as possible and as much love as possible.
