According to law enforcement and the family of Simon Cuevas, 18-year-old Andrew Cantu turned himself in to authorities early Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

SAN ANTONIO \u2014 A teen wanted in connection to the capital murder of a 14-year-old boy has turned himself in, according to law enforcement and the victim’s family.<\/p>\n

Authorities say 18-year-old Andrew Cantu turned himself in early Sunday morning. This comes after police had released a picture of him in late September<\/a>, saying he was wanted for the capital murder of Simon Cuevas. This is according to law enforcement and Simon’s family.<\/p>\n

The 14-year-old was brutally murdered when he was beaten and shot as he walked home from school on April 16, 2025.<\/p>\n

Two teenage brothers, age 14 and 16, were arrested and charged with capital murder back in August. The two are being accused of attacking Simon, along with 18-year-old Fernando Flores who faces a capital murder charge<\/a> in the adult system. Police had been looking for 20-year-old Caesar Tijerina in connection to the case, but he committed suicide before being taken into custody by police.<\/a><\/p>\n

On Sept. 19, police then said they were looking for Andrew Cantu, 18, who was wanted for capital murder in connection with Cuevas’ death.<\/p>\n

Now, it appears that Cantu is in custody.<\/p>\n
