A crime scene has been established and homicide squad detectives are investigating after a man’s body was found on the NSW far south coast.<\/p>\n
Authorities were called to East Street in Bega around 2am on Monday and found the body in a nearby park.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Homicide detectives are yet to formally identify the man, who is believed to be aged in his 40s.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.<\/p>\n
Forensic officers combed the site, in an area of Bega known as the Glebe, on Monday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Authorities are analysing evidence, including an apparently abandoned car found on a nearby road and broken glass.<\/p>\n
Resident Jess Britten said said she woke on Monday morning to find a heavy police presence on her street.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“I’m stressed, it’s close to home,”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
she said.<\/p>\n
“It shouldn’t have happened.”<\/p>\n

Bernie Dixon, who moved into a home on the street just one week ago, said the incident came as a shock.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“I feel alright, I won’t move [away] anyway,” Mr Dixon said.<\/p>\n
“It’s generally quiet around the area,” he said.<\/p>\n
