CBS<\/p>\n<p>Mariah said the principal contacted her around noon Thursday, claiming her daughter was misbehaving in class, and less than two hours later, she was asked to immediately come to the elementary school. <\/p>\n<p>When she arrived, school officials informed her of the alleged attack \u2014 prompting her to ask whether the police had been notified and about the whereabouts of the unidentified paraprofessional.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI asked where the paraprofessional was, they said they sent her home, and then I asked where the police were, and they said they do not contact the police; that they were doing an internal investigation,\u201d the concerned mother told the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think I was numb, I just kind of stared at her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.50146628;display:block\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37303315\" width=\"886\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/salem-nj-112908359.jpg\" alt=\"John Fenwick Academy sign in Salem, New Jersey.\" class=\"wp-image-37303315\"  \/>The employment status of the irate worker is unknown.<\/p>\n<p>A staffer who witnessed the incident filed a police report that said the enraged aide picked up the young student and forcefully placed her in a chair, causing her to hit the back of her head on a metal cabinet. <\/p>\n<p>Mariah said she hasn\u2019t been allowed to speak with the teacher who notified police, and bruises have since appeared on her daughter\u2019s legs, arms, and neck, leaving the girl reluctant to return to school. <\/p>\n<p>The employment status of the irate worker is not immediately known.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSalem City School District\u2019s top priorities are the safety, well-being and academic success of every student,\u201d school officials said in a statement to the outlet. \u201cWe are deeply committed to maintaining a secure and supportive learning environment for everyone in our community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to assure our families and the public that any concern is taken seriously.
