Presented by Career Services, this program is designed to connect Carleton\u2019s talented international students with recruiting employers and equip global students with the skills needed to enter the Canadian labour market. Read on to hear from ISEP Assistant Manager Injie Swailam, who will answer to common questions about the program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does a work opportunity with ISEP entail?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ISEP provides Carleton\u2019s international students with paid employment opportunities designed to provide them with work experience in Canada. These positions allow students to develop professional skills, build their resumes, expand their professional networks and gain valuable insights into Canadian workplace culture while balancing their academic commitments. One of the main gains for ISEP students is increased confidence and motivation to apply to jobs in Canada.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does the registration process look like?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/career\/get-experience\/international-student-employment-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Register on the ISEP website<\/a>\u00a0to start your online career development training. Once you complete the online training you will be able to access the ISEP job board and start applying for your next work opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How does ISEP help international students prepare for the Canadian job market?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ISEP offers access to specialized Career Services modules designed to equip international students with the skills needed to navigate and enter the Canadian labour market. These modules cover essential topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Beginning your job search and building your resume \u2013 learn how to create a strong resume and effectively search for job opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Canadian Workplace Culture \u2013 understand the Canadian workplace expectations, gain effective communication skills and build your professional network.<\/li>\n<li>Introduction to the Canadian Hiring Process \u2013 gain insights into how employers recruit and what they look for in candidates.<\/li>\n<li>What To Expect in a Job Interview \u2013 prepare for your interview questions and develop strategies to present yourself confidently.<\/li>\n<li>Transitioning into the Canadian Workplace \u2013 learn how to adapt to a new work environment and succeed in your new role.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Is there anything else students should know?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes!
