Jerry Jones<\/a> happily watched his Dallas Cowboys<\/a> come through with a dominant win over the New York Jets during Week 5 NFL action. When all was said and done, his team came away with the victory by a final score of 37-22.<\/p>\n

Following the win over the Jets, the Cowboys now hold a 2-2-1 record. They are right back in the mix of things when it comes to computing for a spot in the NFC playoff picture. It’s still early in the year, but the win was a big one for Dallas.<\/p>\n

Despite not having star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and dealing with other injury issues as well, Dallas once again played at a high level. After forcing a tie with the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football in Week 4, it’s looking like the Cowboys may be finding their way.<\/p>\n

A big storyline during the game had to do with Jones’ actions when interacting with fans.<\/p>\n

During the game, Jones was caught on camera<\/a> giving the middle finger to Jets fans. Obviously, that is a gesture that the NFL is not a fan of and has been known to punish for over the years.<\/p>\n

As noted by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk<\/a>, Bud Adams was fined $250,000 for giving a double bird from his suite in a game against the Buffalo Bills back in 2009.<\/p>\n

Regardless of if the NFL chooses to punish Jones or not, it won’t matter to him. Any fine that the league imposes on him will be pocket change for him. He’s simply going to continue enjoying watching his Dallas franchise win and handling himself the way he sees fit.<\/p>\n

That being said, there is a very strong chance that the league office will hand down some kind of punishment for him.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead to the future for the Cowboys, they will start preparing for their Week 6 matchup against the Carolina Panthers on the road. They will have a huge opportunity to get above the .500 mark for the first time this season, but they can’t afford to underestimate the Panthers.<\/p>\n

It will be interesting to see what the rest of the season has in store for Dallas, but Jones’ team is starting to play very well. He’s clearly enjoying himself at the game, although a letter might be arriving for him this week with a fine from the NFL.<\/p>\n
