And now, a new report mentions two specific products as “imminent”—the M5 iPad Pro and Vision Pro 2—and highlights which features to expect.

Apple has at least two ‘imminent’ product launches

This weekend in his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman wrote: “updates of the Vision Pro and iPad Pro are imminent.”

He then outlined several specific features to expect.

On the M5 iPad Pro, Gurman referenced the videos published last week leaking the new hardware:

Based on what we can glean from the videos, there’s little coming to the iPad Pro other than the shift from the M4 to the M5 processor.

One thing we haven’t clearly seen in these videos is a second front-facing camera, which I reported weeks ago has been planned for this iPad Pro. I can say with certainty that M5 iPad Pros within Apple have the second lens. There’s a history of Apple testing features at an advanced stage before pulling them (such as certain storage capacities or features like a second dock connector on the original iPad), but this would be a strange, last-minute cut.

It seems Gurman is confident the new iPad Pro will indeed include a second front-facing camera.

It’s certainly hard to tell from the leaked unboxing video whether an extra camera is present on the hardware or not. But it does seem odd that the YouTuber wouldn’t identify that change, unless perhaps he was unfamiliar with Gurman’s reporting on the feature.

In any case, since the product’s announcement will reportedly be “taking place imminently,” we shouldn’t have to wait long to find out.

As for the new Vision Pro, Gurman reiterated his prior reporting on two upgrades to expect:

As I’ve discussed before, the big change is a faster chip. Apple is also preparing a new strap system that aims to make the device feel lighter during extended use

Previous Bloomberg reporting has said both M4 and M5 versions of the Vision Pro have been tested.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, however, has said more definitively that the new model will have an M5. And with a launch alongside the M5 iPad Pro, that does seem more likely.

New Apple product launches tend to take place in late October, but perhaps Gurman’s use of the word “imminent” to refer to these products means we could see them a little bit sooner.

Which upcoming Apple products are you most looking forward to?
