\u201dI\u2019ve never been scared to put up a fight on anything in my live so it has kind of helped me out in the long run,\u201d Hester said to start the video. \u201cI love showing them that \u2018look, you\u2019re going to have problems. You\u2019re going to have adversity. You\u2019re going to have to suck it up. No matter bleak things you think they are, that obstacle, you can break through it, that you can survive.<\/p>\n
Back in January, Hester was lifting weights in Houston\u2019s training facility when he broke a rib. Upon getting an X-ray, it was revealed that he had a mass in his lungs and a few on his liver. It turns out that he had stage IV melanoma, a skin cancer that had spread to his lungs and liver. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe oncologist said go home, make peace with your family and friends, make sure your will is in order, and call hospice,\u201d Hester said. \u201cThey gave me four-to-six weeks to live. They had somebody tell me \u2018you\u2019re going to die.\u2019 It\u2019s fight mode now. You gave me a challenge, let\u2019s go fight.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hester said the hardest part of his daily battle is the chronic fatigue. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhat are you going to see that he\u2019s not going through right now?\u201d defensive lineman Xavier Stillman said. \u201cHe\u2019s wheezing coming up the stairs. So it\u2019s like, why are you taking the elevator? What excuse do you have now?\u201d <\/p>\n
