They are just trying to buy time, it\u2019s ridiculous, it\u2019s melodrama. Let\u2019s stop this,\u201d said Green lawmaker Sandrine Rousseau. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/guillaumedaret\/status\/1975232037125804443?s=46\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cTrust is broken,\u201d said Agn\u00e8s Evren<\/a>, a senator and spokesperson for the conservative Les R\u00e9publicains, a party that had been part of Lecornu\u2019s government.<\/p>\n<p>Never before has the French president appeared so isolated and so embattled, with no good card to play. And rarely have the stakes been so high for France\u2019s economy \u2014and the European Union\u2019s. Without billions of euros of budget cuts that France\u2019s politicians seem unable to make, there is a risk international markets will twist their knives into the EU\u2019s No. 2 economy.<\/p>\n<p>No good options<\/p>\n<p>If the French president is trying a last-ditch attempt to salvage Lecornu\u2019s government, it\u2019s precisely because he has run out of other options.
