{"id":282849,"date":"2025-10-07T00:44:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T00:44:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/282849\/"},"modified":"2025-10-07T00:44:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T00:44:10","slug":"ian-somerhalder-brings-wellness-brand-to-usc-village-pop-up-annenberg-media","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/282849\/","title":{"rendered":"Ian Somerhalder brings wellness brand to USC Village pop-up \u2013 Annenberg Media"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Students in the USC Village got a surprise of star power Monday when actor and entrepreneur Ian Somerhalder stopped by Sunlife Organics to promote his new drink in collaboration with his brand, The Absorption Company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI was on Trousdale, and my friend sent me a text of a picture of Ian Somerhalder. And I was like, \u2018Oh my gosh, I love \u2018Vampire Diaries.\u2019 Like, I gotta get over there,\u2019\u201d said Giana Goncalves, a sophomore studying political science. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Goncalves was just one of many students at the event who were starstruck by Somerhalder, primarily known for his role as Damon Salvatore on \u201cThe Vampire Diaries.\u201d Somerhalder is a longtime wellness advocate, previously partnering with health platform <a href=\"https:\/\/insider.fitt.co\/press-release\/ian-somerhalder-and-nikki-reed-join-forces-with-joi-blokes\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joi + Blokes<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Cecilia Belle was one of the few lucky students who got the opportunity to meet and take a photo with Somerhalder. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThere was a line to actually meet him and take pictures. I think at first, it was kind of chaotic, since I think people were asking for videos [and] autographs. They were spending a lot of time there,\u201d said Belle, a sophomore majoring in business administration. \u201cBy the time it was my turn, he was like, \u2018Hi, what\u2019s your name?\u2019 I gave him a hug. He asked, \u2018What\u2019s your major?\u2019 Then I took a picture with him,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Growing up, Belle was a fan of Somerhalder and \u201cThe Vampire Diaries.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cAs soon as I heard that he was coming, I was like, I absolutely have to go,\u201d said Belle. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Nathan Meadow, one of the co-founders of The Absorption Company, said that their mission began with a genetic mutation both Ian and his wife have. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cIan and his wife both have a genetic mutation called MTHFR, which doesn\u2019t allow them to absorb certain nutrients, and it caused them to be very passionate about absorption and wellness,\u201d said Meadow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Working alongside scientists and pharmacologists, Ian, his wife, Nikki, and their company developed a supplement that allows for better nutrient absorption. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWe worked with top researchers, PhDs, Ivy League doctors, to develop technology that allows you to absorb more of your supplements, which is why we called it The Absorption Company,\u201d said Meadow. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">This marks the second collaboration between The Absorption Company and Sunlife Organics, a relaunch of a previous smoothie from April. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThe turnout has been absolutely incredible.
