{"id":283069,"date":"2025-10-07T03:06:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T03:06:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/283069\/"},"modified":"2025-10-07T03:06:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T03:06:10","slug":"man-sentenced-to-45-years-in-prison-for-2024-murder-during-confrontation-das-office-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/283069\/","title":{"rendered":"Man sentenced to 45 years in prison for 2024 murder during confrontation, DA\u2019s office says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>SAN ANTONIO<\/strong> \u2013 A man was sentenced to 45 years in prison for the murder of another man during a violent confrontation in 2024, according to a news release from the Bexar County District Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Robert Carrasco Jr., 40, who is accused of killing Jason Banda, 38, was sentenced Monday in Bexar County\u2019s 175th District Court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">San Antonio police said Carrasco assaulted Banda on April 27, 2024, when Banda visited his sister, who the district attorney\u2019s office says was also Carrasco\u2019s girlfriend, at a South Side home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">According to the district attorney\u2019s office, Banda previously had Carrasco arrested on an outstanding warrant for a motion to revoke probation related to an assault on Carrasco\u2019s girlfriend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">During the confrontation, the release states Carrasco brutally beat and killed Banda in front of his sister.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Initially, Banda\u2019s sister told authorities her brother had been jumped, but she later admitted that Carrasco murdered him, the release states.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">She later told police that Carrasco struck Banda with a handgun and that Carrasco had also assaulted her and threatened to harm her family, according to Carrasco\u2019s arrest warrant affidavit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Banda died as a result of his injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The arrest was made after Carrasco\u2019s mother told police he had FaceTimed her and his son during the confrontation, the district attorney\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><b>Read also:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p>Copyright 2024 by KSAT &#8211;
