There has been a very notable recruiting update for an elite Michigan State target in the 2026 class.<\/p>\n
Five-star center Ethan Taylor<\/a> has reportedly cancelled his upcoming official visit to Kentucky originally scheduled for this upcoming weekend. Jacob Polacheck of Kentucky’s On3 site reported<\/a> the notable news on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Why is this important to Michigan State? Well, Taylor just happened to take an official visit to Michigan State this past weekend, which is now looking like it’ll be his final official visit of his recruiting cycle. According<\/a> to 247Sports’ Michigan State insider Justin Thind, this doesn’t suggest anything is a “done deal” but rather “this development just indicates that Taylor feels he has enough data to make a choice, and will now enter decision-making mode.” Either way, though, it certainly helps the Spartans’ chances of landing this prized prospect knowing a major program like Kentucky is no longer in the running.<\/p>\n Taylor ranks as the No. 24 overall prospect and No. 2 center in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2026 class. He plays at the Link Academy with Michigan State commit point guard Carlos Medlock Jr.<\/p>\n With Kentucky out of the mix, it appears Taylor is down to the following schools: Michigan State, Kansas, Indiana, Oklahoma and Oregon.
