Von der Leyen\u2019s EPP is weakening Europe because it is vacillating as to \u201cwhich side of the political spectrum they stand on,\u201d \u00a0Greens co-leader Terry Reintke said.<\/p>\n
The Greens have plenty of complaints, from the EPP\u2019s \u201clate reaction\u201d to the suffering in Gaza to the scrapping of climate initiatives. But they won\u2019t vote against von der Leyen, Reintke said, because\u00a0\u201cdo we really, in this crucial moment, want an institutional crisis?\u201d<\/p>\n
12. The ECR is on the fence<\/p>\n
The right-wing European Conservatives and Reformists are no real fans of von der Leyen but don\u2019t particularly agree with some of her critics either.<\/p>\n
That will see some of the group back her in the confidence vote, and some not \u2014 as happened in July, when the Brothers of Italy party backed von der Leyen while the Polish ECR delegation voted to remove her.<\/p>\n
