{"id":283577,"date":"2025-10-07T08:26:38","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T08:26:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/283577\/"},"modified":"2025-10-07T08:26:38","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T08:26:38","slug":"cop-and-wife-high-on-cocaine-die-in-bathtub-celebrating-daughters-birthday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/283577\/","title":{"rendered":"Cop and wife high on cocaine die in bathtub celebrating daughter&#8217;s birthday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A police officer and his businesswoman wife died from heatstroke after getting into an overheated bathtub while drunk and high on cocaine as they celebrated their 4-year-old daughter\u2019s birthday, authorities in Brazil have said.<\/p>\n<p>Military cop Jeferson Luiz Sagaz, 37, and his nail salon owner partner, Ana Carolina Silva, 41, were found dead in a motel in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina on the night of Aug. 11, Brazilian outlet\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/g1.globo.com\/sc\/santa-catarina\/noticia\/2025\/10\/04\/ponto-a-ponto-relembre-detalhes-da-investigacao-sobre-morte-de-pm-e-empresaria-achados-em-motel.ghtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">G1 Globo reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The couple had spent the day celebrating their young daughter\u2019s birthday, drinking alcohol and doing cocaine, before going to a nightclub and checking into the Dallas Motel at around midnight.<\/p>\n<p>When they failed to pick up their daughter the following day, relatives raised the alarm and reported the pair missing.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.34207077;display:block\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37310540\" width=\"792\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/sc-brazil-newsx-112929346.jpg\" alt=\"Ana and Jeferson embracing in a photo on a beach in Brazil.\" class=\"wp-image-37310540\"  \/>Jeferson Luiz Sagaz, 37, and partner, Ana Carolina Silva, 41, died from heatstroke in a motel bathtub. NX<\/p>\n<p>Their bodies were found in the motel bathtub.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities ruled that heatstroke was the cause of death, but that the cocaine and alcohol in their blood may have dulled their reactions to the severe heat.<\/p>\n<p>The water in the bathtub had reached 122 degrees Fahrenheit, while a space heater in the room was also turned up high, investigators found.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cause of both deaths was exogenous poisoning, favoring the process of heatstroke with intense dehydration, thermal collapse, culminating in organ failure and death,\u201d Chief Medical Examiner Andressa Boer Fronza said Thursday.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.71237458;display:block\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37310538\" width=\"1010\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/picture-shows-ana-jeferson-undated-112929343.jpg\" alt=\"Ana and Jeferson in an undated photo.\" class=\"wp-image-37310538\"  \/>Alcohol and cocaine were found in their blood according to toxicology tests.
