Westwood Contractors, a leader in nationwide retail and commercial construction, is pleased to announce the
promotion of Jess Ascencio to Human Resources Manager, effective October 6, 2025.
In her new role, Mrs. Ascencio will oversee the strategic and day-to-day functions of the HR department, including policy development, talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, and benefits administration. She will also serve as a trusted advisor to management, guiding performance management and fostering a workplace culture that emphasizes engagement, collaboration, and professional growth.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Ascencio brings 16 years of experience in human resources and employee relations, serving both
public and private organizations across industries such as clean energy, pharmaceutical, retail, technology,
finance, accounting, and education. A certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) by the Human
Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), she has demonstrated her ability to design and implement HR
programs that align organizational goals with the needs of employees. Since joining Westwood nearly a
year ago as HR Generalist, she has made an immediate impact by taking on additional responsibilities,
adapting her expertise to the construction industry, and strengthening the company\u2019s HR capabilities.
Mrs. Ascencio\u2019s character is highlighted by a sense of conscientiousness, attention to detail, and
commitment to accuracy and quality. These traits are reflected in her ability to ensure compliance with
employment laws, conduct thorough audits, and implement consistent policies and processes. Equally
important, her careful and thoughtful approach supports Westwood\u2019s mission to create an environment
