It was a brutal weekend for the New York Yankees, who got throttled by the Toronto Blue Jays in the first two games of the ALDS.<\/p>\n

The Blue Jays won 10-1 in the first game on Saturday, and then tagged the Yankees’ ace Max Fried on Sunday to take a commanding 2-0 series lead. Now, the Yankees will be facing win-or-go home games for the remainder of the series.<\/p>\n

With the disastrous losses, rumors are swirling that this could be Aaron Boone’s last ride with the team.<\/p>\n

Is Aaron Boone’s job in jeopardy?<\/p>\n

The New York Yankees made it all the way to the Fall Classic last season, but if they don’t advance to at least the Championship Series this year, time might be out for manager Aaron Boone.<\/p>\n

In a recent Yankees rumors report, columnist Bob Klapisch and beat writer Randy Miller both agree that the Yankees likely won’t make a managerial change this offseason,<\/a> but the clock will be ticking loudly with a division series loss to the Blue Jays.<\/p>\n

The idea that both writers point out is that the Yankees’ season isn’t a total failure if they lose to the Blue Jays, and that there are still positives to take out of it.<\/p>\n

For what it’s worth, New York did lose both Gerrit Cole and Clarke Schmidt to season-ending injuries, and was still able to win a series in the MLB playoffs, and might have discovered a key piece to the rotation for years to come in Cam Schlittler.<\/p>\n

The Achilles heel for the Yankees this series is the fact that the Toronto Blue Jays have fully taken control of home-field advantage, and now the Yankees’ backs are fully against the wall for the next three games.<\/p>\n
