Andrew Cuomo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAndrew Cuomo has officially thrown his support behind Jonathan Rinaldi\u2019s bid for City Council,\u201d the fake story read.<\/p>\n<p>Rinaldi is running on the Republican line against incumbent Democratic City Council member Lynn Schulman though he does not have the official backing of the Queens Republican Party.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t even know who that guy is,\u201d Cuomo spokesperson Rich Azzopardi said.<\/p>\n<p>A fake NY Post story posted by Jonathan Rinaldi over the weekend. Jonathan David Rinaldi\/Facebook<\/p>\n<p>Hevesi called Rinaldi \u201ca liar, a perennial loser, and a clown.\u201d Jonathan David Rinaldi\/Facebook<\/p>\n<p>After the Queens Daily Eagle reported on Rinaldi\u2019s fake articles this Monday, he posted another bogus story falsely saying his opponent was under investigation for hacking. Jonathan David Rinaldi\/Facebook<\/p>\n<p>Another doctored post claimed Rinaldi had received the backing of Queens Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi (D-Queens).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Rinaldi is a liar, a perennial loser, and a clown,\u201d Hevesi fumed in a statement to The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith zero support, zero integrity, and zero record to stand on, he\u2019s turned to pathetic lies rather than trying to actually earn the voters\u2019 trust,\u201d Hevesi said. \u201cLynn Schulman, on the other hand, is a deeply accomplished public official who has served this community for decades, including her time in the City Council, and earned our support.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rinaldi did not immediately reply to a request for comment from The Post Tuesday, but claimed to <a href=\"https:\/\/queenseagle.com\/all\/2025\/10\/6\/queens-council-candidate-flaunts-fake-endorsements-and-doctored-news-articles?ref=hellgatenyc.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Queens Daily Eagle<\/a> that his Facebook account had been hacked.
