{"id":284915,"date":"2025-10-07T22:26:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T22:26:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/284915\/"},"modified":"2025-10-07T22:26:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T22:26:10","slug":"nas-reacts-to-fans-using-jay-z-beef-to-fuel-nyc-casino-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/284915\/","title":{"rendered":"Nas Reacts to Fans Using Jay-Z Beef to Fuel NYC Casino Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cEther\u201d lives forever.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSome fans have been lightheartedly reviving the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/jay-z\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jay-Z <\/a>vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/nas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nas<\/a> feud as the pair of rap deities face off with opposing NYC casino bids.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/rb-hip-hop\/nas-nyc-casino-resorts-world-approval-1236075367\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Resorts World\u2019s casino bid<\/a> \u2014 which Nas partnered with \u2014 was approved by the Community Advisory Committee to bring an expanded $5.5 billion casino project to Queens, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/rb-hip-hop\/jay-z-roc-nation-times-square-casino-denied-1236068660\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roc Nation\u2019s proposal <\/a>for a Times Square casino was shot down by the CAC. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFans leaned into the former rivals\u2019 battle when pitting the pair of opposing casinos against one another, with Nas taking the win, as Resorts World\u2019s proposal just needs approval by the State Gaming Commission while Jay\u2019s alongside SL Green and Caesars\u2019 bid is all but dead. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tNas sat down with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/nas-legend-has-it-comic-books-dj-premier-album-1235441737\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rolling Stone<\/a> earlier this week, where he reflected on fans bringing his feud with Jay-Z back up with the pair of rap legends as part of the bidding for casino licenses in NYC. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIt is just a thing that some people are going to talk about,\u201d he stated. \u201cNo one has any control over things like that. I still study <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/rakim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rakim <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/big-daddy-kane\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big Daddy Kane.<\/a> Some rap fans just like to go off on those things from time to time. That\u2019s it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tEven Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. took a shot at Jay-Z following the Resorts World bid approval. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThere\u2019s a theme in Queens, and I know that Nas was a part of this: Queens get the money. Sorry, Jay-Z, we win again,\u201d Richards quipped. \u201cYou can let the Brooklyn borough president know that I send my regards to him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOf course, Jay and Nas have long squashed their beef. Tensions in the \u201990s reached a boiling point in the early 2000s with the Queensbridge native\u2019s \u201cStillmatic Freestyle,\u201d which was followed by Hov\u2019s \u201cTakeover\u201d and Nas\u2019 \u201cEther.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAs for the casino, Resorts World NYC received unanimous approval with a 6-0 vote from the CAC on Sept. 25. Resorts World officials are looking to open the revamped Southeast Queens casino by July 2026, and the Aqueduct Park project is slated to be one of the largest in the U.S. at 350,000 square feet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tResorts World is set to also open a brand new 7,000-person capacity entertainment venue, while NBA champion and Queens native Kenny \u201cThe Jet\u201d Smith will assist in bringing a sports complex to the Resorts World campus.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe ambitious project hopes to bring 24,000 new jobs to Queens and $1 million in new revenue during its first year of operation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\u201cEther\u201d lives forever.
