Jimmy Kimmel ripped into Republicans for their spin on the ongoing government shutdown<\/a>, but he took a moment to commend one particular name for her surprising stance on the situation. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe reason the Democrats refuse to sign this budget agreement is because it will cause millions of Americans to lose their healthcare,\u201c Kimmel explained in his monologue Tuesday.<\/p>\n

I was not in Congress when all this Obamacare, \u201cAffordable Care Act\u201d bullshit started. I got here in 2021. As a matter of fact, the ACA made health insurance UNAFFORDABLE for my family after it was passed, with skyrocketing premiums higher than our house payment.<\/p>\n

Kimmel read from Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene\u2019s post on X Monday night, where the congresswoman broke ranks<\/a> with MAGA over the issue.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to go against everyone on this issue because when the tax credits expire this year my own adult children\u2019s insurance premiums for 2026 are going to DOUBLE, along with all the wonderful families and hard-working people in my district,\u201d Greene wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo I\u2019m not towing the party line on this, or playing loyalty games.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kimmel responded, \u201cI know this sounds crazy, but I will say it for the second time in a month: Marjorie Taylor Greene is right.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI know,\u201d he joked, \u201cI need something to wash out my mouth.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first time Kimmel agreed with Greene came in early September, when Greene urged Trump<\/a> to meet Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s sex trafficking victims in the Oval Office.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t believe I\u2019m saying this,\u201d Kimmel responded<\/a> at the time, \u201cBut good going, Marjorie Taylor Greene.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kimmel\u2019s few moments of support for Greene have been far outnumbered by his criticisms. Kimmel has repeatedly described the representative\u2019s words and actions as \u201cidiotic\u201d<\/a> and the markings of a “sociopath<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

Kimmel didn\u2019t cover everything in Greene\u2019s full post Monday, and it\u2019s unlikely he\u2019d agree with all of it; the congresswomen also trashed the ACA and declared that she wouldn\u2019t \u201cvote for illegals to have any tax payer funded healthcare or benefits.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Greene criticized her own party\u2019s inaction on rising premiums, noting, \u201cNot a single Republican in leadership talked to us about this or has given us a plan to help Americans deal with their health insurance premiums DOUBLING!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

She added later in the post, \u201cWE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE ABSOLUTELY INSANE COST OF INSURANCE FOR AMERICANS.\u201d<\/p>\n
