As wild as today\u2019s digital dating world<\/a> is \u2014 sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures. <\/p>\n

One woman posted on her dating app profile<\/a> asking potential suitors to give her their best impersonation of actor Tim Allen\u2019s grunts from the show \u201cHome Improvement.\u201d<\/p>\n

The popular sitcom ran for eight seasons in the early 1990s. Allen\u2019s character, Tim \u201cThe Tool Man\u201d Taylor, was known for expressing himself through a very specific grunt sound. <\/p>\n

Kathenn (@kathenn25<\/a>) first shared a video on TikTok<\/a>, putting many desperate eligible bachelors on blast who responded to her Hinge prompt that read: \u201cI get along best with people who can do the Tim Allen \u201cawrhoo\u201d impression. Let me see what you got,\u201d earlier this year. <\/p>\n

To give context to viewers, she wrote in overlay text on her video: \u201cMy version of the 4B movement includes making men on Hinge do an impression of Tim Allen before they\u2019re allowed to speak to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

She played each hilarious impression one by one \u2014 and that was only the beginning.<\/p>\n

Several other videos of grunting impressions followed, and the most recent one<\/a>, captioned: \u201cThey\u2019re baaaaaaaack (they never left they literally do not stop coming in),\u201d has gone viral \u2014 garnering almost 500,000 views. <\/p>\n

Over 500 people commented on the humorous clip.<\/p>\n

One curious person asked: \u201cIs this a kink thing?\u201d<\/p>\n

Another person couldn\u2019t believe how well some of the contenders sounded like Allen: \u201ci refuse to believe that the first one was not sampled directly from the tv show.\u201d<\/p>\n

One honest commenter gave a bit of an explanation as to why Kathenn is getting a ton of action on this prompt: \u201cI have no idea why but the tim Allen grunt is the REAL Roman empire for men. I\u2019ve been doing this shit since I was a kid.\u201d<\/p>\n

Someone else thought the journey was better than the destination in this situation: \u201cThis is better than dating.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAbsolute cinema,\u201d another one chimed in.<\/p>\n

The video even made its way to X (formerly Twitter) where one user shared the video<\/a>, writing, \u201cI\u2019m absolutely losing it.\u201d The Tweet received over 1 million views.<\/p>\n

In a YouTube short clip<\/a> while on stage at the famous Laugh Factory comedy club, Allen explained that the inspiration for his famous grunt came from a time he was performing a show to a predominantly male audience. <\/p>\n

While Allen was trying to do his bits on stage, the men were all grunting as they ate their meal, barely paying attention to the comedian.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t get their attention. All I was doing on stage, I hear men [grunting]. So I started doing that [grunting]. And these men actually went, \u2018Huh?\u2019 and a career was built,\u201d Allen jokingly explained. <\/p>\n
