The\u00a010 iconic spots in metro Phoenix you must visit poll<\/a>\u00a0launched on September 24, with 10 worthy contenders going head to head in a reader poll to determine the ultimate can’t-miss spots<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There were places from downtown Phoenix, the west Valley and Scottsdale areas, all narrowed down to the top three finalists \u2014 the Desert Botanical Garden, Camelback Mountain and the Musical Instrument Museum \u2014 in the second round.<\/p>\n

Round 2 closed with hundreds of readers voting to determine the winner. And the winner won by a landslide, with 51% of the votes.<\/p>\n

So, without further ado, the iconic spot in metro Phoenix that readers say you must visit is\u2026 Desert Botanical Garden.<\/p>\n

How long does it take to go through the Desert Botanical Garden?<\/p>\n

The Desert Botanical Garden typically takes about 1\u00bd to 2 hours to walk through, but it all depends on the pace. Spanning 140 acres within Papago Park, the garden features over 50,000 desert plants, including towering saguaros, colorful succulents and other desert plants.<\/p>\n

Visitors can expect a mix of five themed trails, art installations and butterfly exhibits.<\/p>\n

How much are tickets to the Desert Botanical Gardens?<\/p>\n

General admission costs $39.95. Youth between the ages of 3-17 cost $19.95. Children younger than 2 get in free. You can get tickets online through the \u00a0dbg.org<\/a> website<\/a> or in person.<\/p>\n

What day is free at Desert Botanical Garden?<\/p>\n

You can get free entry to the Desert Botanical Garden on the second Tuesday of every month by making a reservation in advance through their website,\u00a0dbg.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Active duty military also receive free admission anytime.<\/p>\n
