{"id":286508,"date":"2025-10-08T12:34:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-08T12:34:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/286508\/"},"modified":"2025-10-08T12:34:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-08T12:34:10","slug":"california-gubernatorial-hopeful-katie-porter-tries-to-storm-out-of-cbs-interview-after-meltdown-over-trump-question","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/286508\/","title":{"rendered":"California gubernatorial hopeful Katie Porter tries to storm out of CBS interview after meltdown over Trump question"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>California gubernatorial hopeful Katie Porter snapped and tried to storm out of an interview after being asked a simple question about President Trump \u2014 with the Democrat raging \u201cI don\u2019t want this all on camera.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The irritated ex-California Rep. \u2014 who once allegedly dumped steaming mashed potatoes on her then-hubby\u2019s head \u2014 was recorded trying to pull the plug on the sit-down with a CBS reporter last month.<\/p>\n<p>Leaked footage of the bizarre encounter, which only surfaced Tuesday, captured Porter flipping out when the reporter asked how she planned to win Republican votes as she tries to replace Gov. Gavin Newsom.<\/p>\n<p>Former Democratic Rep. Katie Porter tried to storm out of a CBS interview. CBS News<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat do you say to the 40% of California voters, who you\u2019ll need in order to win, who voted for Trump?\u201d the reporter, Julie Watts, asked.<\/p>\n<p>After a brief back-and-forth where a testy Porter insisted she could build support and would seek every vote possible, the Democrat suddenly cracked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel like this is unnecessarily argumentative. What is your question?\u201d Porter snapped.<\/p>\n<p>Former Democratic Rep. Katie Porter\u2019s interview with CBS did not go over well.  CBS News<\/p>\n<p>The reporter responded, \u201cEvery other candidate has answered this question. This is not argumentative.\u201d<br \/>When the question was repeated, Porter could be seen trying to take her microphone off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want to keep doing this. I\u2019m going to call it,\u201d Porter said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to have a pleasant, positive conversation\u2026 And if every question you\u2019re going to make up a follow-up question, then we\u2019re never going to get there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Katie Porter was a representative for California before she was voted out. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want this all on camera,\u201d she later added.<\/p>\n<p>After the footage started spreading on social media, Porter\u2019s campaign said the interview \u2014 which was recorded last month \u2014 continued for an additional 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t immediately clear if, or when, it was set to air in full.<\/p>\n<p>Former Rep. Katie Porter is now running for California\u2019s governor after Gavin Newsom\u2019s term ends.
