It is expected to generate millions of dollars in tourism revenue for the local economy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">SEMICON West is an opportunity for the City of Phoenix to deepen ties with international trade partners in Asia and Europe, according to Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">\u201cThis achievement highlights our City\u2019s strength as a center of innovation, our world-class workforce, and our role in advancing technology that impacts the entire globe,\u201d Gallego said in a statement. \u201cSEMICON will energize our economy, support local businesses, and cement Phoenix\u2019s place as America\u2019s semiconductor capital.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">The City of Phoenix says SEMICON West helps highlight <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/2025\/04\/04\/foreign-trade-zones-could-help-businesses-with-new-tariffs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/2025\/04\/04\/foreign-trade-zones-could-help-businesses-with-new-tariffs\/\">Foreign-Trade Zone No. 75<\/a>, which is an area administered by the City of Phoenix that allows companies to save money on duties on imported goods and encourages them to utilize the area for their business. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">Arizona is a leader in semiconductor advancement since Motorola established its facility in Greater Phoenix in 1949.
