Make space Jim Nill<\/a>, there\u2019s another top executive in town.<\/p>\n

The USL Super League announced Monday that Dallas Trinity FC<\/a> co-founder and president Charlie Neil was named the league\u2019s executive of the year for the 2024-25 season. The award is given to recognize an executive for “their leadership and impact on their individual club, their community, and the USL Super League,” according to the league<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Trinity had a 12-9-7 record in its inaugural season, finishing third in the league table and earning a postseason berth. The team\u2019s season ended with a 2-1 road loss against eventual champions Tampa Bay Sun FC<\/a> in the semifinals.<\/p>\n

Trinity also hosted FC Barcelona Femen\u00ed<\/a>, one of the best women\u2019s teams in the world, for a friendly at the Cotton Bowl. The game was Trinity\u2019s first ever home game and served as an introduction to its new city.<\/p>\n

The league also commended Neil for his leadership in helping Trinity win Visit Dallas\u2019 \u201cCan Do\u201d Spirit Award for Sports and in building relationships with nearly a dozen partners in the community.<\/p>\n

While Trinity\u2019s opening season went well, Neil still has a ways to match Nill, the Stars\u2019 general manager who just won his third consecutive Jim Gregory General Manager of the Year Award<\/a> in the NHL. <\/p>\n
