{"id":287372,"date":"2025-10-08T20:13:26","date_gmt":"2025-10-08T20:13:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/287372\/"},"modified":"2025-10-08T20:13:26","modified_gmt":"2025-10-08T20:13:26","slug":"andrew-rannells-listed-his-nyc-home-because-hes-living-in-la","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/287372\/","title":{"rendered":"Andrew Rannells listed his NYC home because he&#8217;s living in LA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Grammy-winning actor Andrew Rannells recently listed his Chelsea triplex for $2.39 million, but he actually said goodbye to the Big Apple some time ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rannells told Gimme Shelter he now lives in Mid-City, a neighborhood in central LA, with his partner, the actor Tuc Watkins, and Tuc\u2019s twin children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI started going back and forth to LA in 2013,\u201d Rannells said. \u201cTuc and I started dating in 2019 and that\u2019s when I really started spending a lot of time out here outside of work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But, he added, he isn\u2019t abandoning New York for long \u2014 especially if the right project comes along. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI could never fully leave New York,\u201d he said. \u201cI love it here too much. I just find myself in Los Angeles more these days with work and my family so it seems like the right time to make a change, as much as it pains me to leave this beautiful apartment. I will definitely\u00a0be looking for another place here, most likely someplace that is close to the Broadway theaters. I can never stray too far from Broadway.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Andrew Rannells. Dan Osborn for Corcoran<\/p>\n<p>The Chelsea listing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/10\/03\/realestate\/andrew-rannells-lists-his-chelsea-triplex-for-2-395-million.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was first reported<\/a> by the New York Times.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 1,400-square-foot triplex is inside a historic building at 443 W. 24th St. that dates to 1850. The four-story Greek Revival building is in between Ninth and Tenth avenues, near the High Line.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rannells paid $2.1 million for the two-bedroom co-op in 2018. It was his first New York real estate purchase, which he made following the six-season success of the Lena Dunham\u2019s still-talked-about HBO show, \u201cGirls.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The apartment comes with a hardwood floors, a decorative fireplace and a 140-square-foot terrace, where Rannells often wrote while enjoying his morning coffee.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rannells is also an author, who penned the 2019 memoir, \u201c<a data-aps-asc-tag=\"nypost-20\" data-aps-asin=\"0525574859\" data-wrapped-template=\"https:\/\/r.nypostlink.com?btn_ref=org-19984c113c692001&amp;btn_url\" href=\"https:\/\/r.nypostlink.com?btn_ref=org-19984c113c692001&amp;btn_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FToo-Much-Not-Enough-Adulthood%2Fdp%2F0525574859%3Ftag%3Dnypost-20%26asc_refurl%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fnypost.com%2F2025%2F10%2F08%2Freal-estate%2Fandrew-rannells-listed-his-nyc-home-because-hes-living-in-la%2F%26asc_source%3Dweb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">Too Much Is Not Enough<\/a>.\u201d He has also published essays in the New York Times\u2019 Modern love and Opinion sections. As a talented actor, he is also the originator of the Kevin Price role in \u201cThe Book of Mormon\u201d on Broadway and has co-starred in the \u201cA Simple Favor\u201d movies with Blake Lively.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The elegant triplex is in a historic building and features lots of built-in storage. Dan Osborn for Corcoran<\/p>\n<p>Climb two sets of stairs in the brownstone, and the triplex opens into an elegant entertaining space with a living and dining area adorned with built-in bookcases and three large windows. There\u2019s also an open chef\u2019s kitchen with white marble counters and an oversized porcelain farmhouse sink.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The second floor hosts a den that can convert to become an additional bedroom with built-in bookcases. This floor also has another bedroom with a walk-in closet, a marble bath and a washer\/dryer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The third floor features the main bedroom suite, with a walk in closet and an ensuite spa-like bath with wall-to-wall skylights.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The listing broker is Corcoran\u2019s Michael Russell, who is a friend of Rannells.
