In Albania on Wednesday, he said he was advocating for tourism between the countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wanted to come here and talk about tourism and see how we can assist in utilizing not only my next few months in office, but even after office of getting a direct flight from New York City to Albania,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for Adams said the trip was unrelated to potential job offers. @NYCMayor<\/p>\n
A City Hall spokesperson noted that talks with airlines were only preliminary \u2014 and reiterated that Adams\u2019 trip was not related to a potential job after he leaves office.<\/p>\n
The official trip was on a matter of business \u2014 with the mayor exploring opportunities to boost economic activity between the city and\u00a0the Eastern European nation,\u00a0the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
Taxpayers are footing some of the bill for the mayor\u2019s foreign excursion \u2014 though Adams\u2019 and his security detail\u2019s lodging and ground transportation is being paid for by the Albanian government, City Hall said.<\/p>\n
