TULLY, N.Y. \u2014 Forest Rangers from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation responded to a fire on private property in Tully amid a statewide burn ban.<\/p>\n

Rangers arrived to find several piles of brush burning on a farm. The DEC said rangers and local fire departments contained the fire and declared it out two days later.<\/p>\n

\u201cDEC\u2019s Forest Rangers bravely protect State-owned and managed lands, as well as the people who use them,” said DEC Commissioner Amanda Lefton. “Whether conducting a search and rescue call or responding to a wildfire, rangers are always ready when emergencies strike.” <\/p>\n

The farm’s owner was ticketed for leaving a fire unattended. <\/p>\n
