\n\tRon Dean<\/a>, an actor known for his roles in \u201cRisky Business\u201d and \u201cThe Breakfast Club<\/a>,\u201d died on Oct 5. He was 87.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe cause of death is unknown. Dean\u2019s partner, Maggie Neff, announced the news.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe passed at exactly 4pm, after his beloved sisters had said their goodbyes,\u201d said Neff. \u201cHe hung on like a warrior to say goodbye to his little sisters. Then we were alone, and in my arms, I held his hand, and he trusted me when I told him that it was alright to let go. What an honor!\u201c<\/p>\n

\n\tBorn in Chicago, Dean began his career by playing cops and military officials. One of his earliest roles was in \u201cRisky Business,\u201d where he appeared alongside Tom Cruise. Dean also appeared in \u201cThe Package\u201d with Tommy Lee Jones and Gene Hackman, and worked alongside William Shatner in \u201cT.J. Hooker.\u201d\u00a0Dean also had a role in John Hughes\u2019 \u201cThe Breakfast Club,\u201d portraying Andy (Emilio Estevez)\u2019s father, and appeared in Christopher Nolan\u2019s \u201cThe Dark Knight.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDean was a frequent collaborator with director\u00a0Andrew Davis. He starred in several of his films, including \u201cThe Fugitive,\u201d \u201cCode of Silence,\u201d \u201cAbove the Law,\u201d\u00a0\u201cSteal Big Steal Little,\u201d \u201cChain Reaction\u201d and \u201cThe Guardian.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tDean appeared in various television roles on series such as \u201cMurder, She Wrote,\u201d \u201cFrasier,\u201d \u201cER,\u201d \u201cChicago Hope,\u201d \u201cNYPD Blue,\u201d \u201cThe West Wing,\u201d \u201cCSI: Crime Scene Investigation,\u201d \u201cWithout a Trace,\u201d \u201cNumb3rs,\u201d \u201cCold Case\u201d and \u201cStill Standing.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tDean was nominated for a 1996 Joseph Jefferson Award for Actor in a Supporting Role for \u201cSupple in Combat\u201d with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company.
