Arsenal are currently top of the Premier League, and Frank Lampard has praised a member of the squad. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Mikel Arteta<\/a> has been putting together a strong squad with plenty of depth in all positions to try and push Arsenal over the line to win the Premier League<\/a>. <\/p>\n

That led to the Gunners splashing the cash on high-profile stars such as Viktor Gyokeres<\/a> and Eberechi Eze. <\/p>\n

However, it is Arsenal\u2019s<\/a> most expensive-ever signing that Lampard has been impressed by, proving that Arteta spent the money wisely. <\/p>\n

Arsenal signed Declan Rice<\/a> for \u00a3100million, bringing plenty of pressure on the England international to deliver from the moment he started playing for the club. <\/p>\n

Even though Rice has yet to win any silverware with the Gunners, he has been a pivotal part of Arteta\u2019s team and has delivered some significant individual performances. <\/p>\n

His efforts have caught the eye of Chelsea<\/a> legend, Lampard, who heaped praise on him during an appearance on talkSPORT. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think Declan Rice picks himself because he\u2019s such an outstanding talent and what he\u2019s done deservedly so, and he\u2019s an all-rounder. Finding the right player to play in the 10 is a difficult one. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think Anderson\u2019s done really well coming in and playing and giving a nice balance and something new for us to see.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lampard isn\u2019t the only legend to praise Rice, as Alan Shearer called him \u201cbrilliant\u201d<\/a> for his performance against Newcastle United. <\/p>\n

Frank Lampard wanted to sign Declan Rice at Chelsea<\/p>\n

Lampard has always been a fan of Rice, dating back to when he was allowed to manage Chelsea for the first time. <\/p>\n

He brought in various players, such as Timo Werner and Kai Havertz<\/a>, at that time, but he admitted to\u00a0Sky Sports<\/a>\u00a0that he also wanted to sign Rice to potentially work as the club captain.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was no spirit in Chelsea squad on my return, I wanted to sign Declan Rice.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was at Chelsea before, I wanted to bring in Declan Rice. I said he would be the captain of Chelsea for the next 10 years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rice started his career at Chelsea as part of the academy but never broke into the first team before moving to West Ham United<\/a>. <\/p>\n
