NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 Dolly Parton<\/a> \u201cain\u2019t dead yet,\u201d the country superstar said on social media Wednesday following public speculation about her health.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are just a lot of rumors flying around. But I figured if you heard it from me, you\u2019d know that I was okay,\u201d the 79-year-old singer said in a new two-minute video posted on Instagram.<\/a> \u201cI\u2019m not ready to die yet. I don\u2019t think God is through with me. And I ain\u2019t done working.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her post, which appeared on numerous of Parton\u2019s social media accounts and her website, was captioned, \u201cI ain\u2019t dead yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Late last month Parton postponed her first Las Vegas residency<\/a> in 32 years, citing \u201chealth challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n

She was scheduled to perform six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for \u201cDolly: Live in Las Vegas\u201d between Dec. 4 and Dec. 13, overlapping with the National Finals Rodeo.<\/a> Her dates have been moved to next year \u2014 Sept. 2026.<\/p>\n

She did not provide specific details at the time, writing, \u201cAs many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it\u2019s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!\u201d<\/p>\n

In the new video clip shared Wednesday, Parton is seen sitting on a set speaking directly to camera, telling her audience that she\u2019s about to record a few commercials for the Grand Ole Opry,<\/a> which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone thinks that I am sicker than I am. Do I look sick to you? I\u2019m working hard here! Anyway, I wanted to put everybody\u2019s mind at ease, those of you who seem to be real concerned, which I appreciate,\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd I appreciate your prayers because I\u2019m a person of faith. I can always use the prayers for anything and everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, a Facebook posted shared by her sister Freida Parton escalated concerns around Parton\u2019s health when she wrote that she had been \u201cup all night praying for my sister, Dolly.\u201d Hours later, Freida Parton followed up with another post.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to clear something up. I didn\u2019t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly,\u201d she wrote. \u201cShe\u2019s been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Parton offered her own clarification in the video, referencing her late husband of nearly 60 years Carl Dean,<\/a> who died earlier this year at age 82.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want you to know that I\u2019m OK. I\u2019ve got some problems as I\u2019ve mentioned. Back when my husband Carl was very sick, that was for a long time, and then when he passed, I didn\u2019t take care of myself. So I let a lot of things go that I should\u2019ve been taking care of,\u201d she said. \u201cSo anyway, when I got around to it, the doctor said \u2018We need to take care of this. We need to take care of that.\u2019 Nothing major but I did have to cancel some things so I could be closer to home, closer to Vanderbilt, where I\u2019m kind of having a few treatments here and there.\u201d<\/p>\n

And in true Parton fashion, she ended with a joke. \u201cBut I wanted you to know that I\u2019m not dying. Did you see that AI picture of Reba (McEntire)<\/a> and me, oh Lordy! I mean, they had Reba at my death bed, and we both look like we need to be buried,\u201d she laughed.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I was really dying, I don\u2019t think Reba would be the one at my death bed. She might come visit me earlier.<\/p>\n
